Our local track doesn't require full leathers unless you trap 130mph or more. Stupid rule either way, but that's TN for ya.

There are a lot of 1/8th mile tracks that don't require leathers either. My track enforces leather jacket, leather gloves, Snell 2000 and up helmet, and boots, but no leather pant requirement. One reason is it's just too dang hot down here to be hanging out on cement and pavement in 95 degree weather waiting an hour for a pass, another is that most people down here don't even have a set of full leathers.

Sounds like it, even after he lost the bike the engine was still climbing through RPM's

Our local track doesn't require full leather at all and it's sanctioned by the NHRA. All they require is long sleeves gloves and a helmet. .... We had busa's runnin 8.4's @ 160 without full leathers.
