I was out in a parking lot practicing body position; when I was done I noticed the front tire was almost over and the rear still had some ~.25'' of strip on both sides. Does this mean the front is under inflated or the rear is over inflated? I keep both ~30psi (shinkos). For my class last weekend we deflated about a pound from normal and the front seemed like it had more strip left and the left side rear was 1/8" and right side seemed like 3/4 -1". Practice helped improve right side lean. Stock size tires for my bike.

It doesn't mean anything important. It's rare for front and rear to be about the same because the tires are not only different shapes, but different sizes.

"Chicken strips" are an indication of absolutely nothing. You can get rid of them by riding properly (track speeds, leaned over completely), or you can get rid of them by riding improperly (bike leaned over too far because you're not hanging off correctly), or you can get rid of them with a brillo pad in your driveway.

Popeyes has the best chicken strips. Whether they're thinner in the front or back depends on which way you pick them up.

If you're hitting the edge of the front first, be careful. You could lose it. It probably comes from the height difference between what the bike was set up for and the tire you have on it. Bet it steers slightly faster than it did before. You might be able to even out the wear by raising the front of the bike to compensate for the smaller diameter of the tire.

Yeah, i would raise the forks a bit though.

I'd rather run out of tire in the rear and start to slide, than run out of tire in the front and tuck it.

2-3mm would do it.

This sounds weird to me. I've always had my bikes have far more left on the front than the rear. 30 psi also seems low. Honda's recommendation is stamped somewhere on the bike, usually on the steering head or somewhere by the swingarm. Usually they're in the 35 front, 40 rear range (sorry, don't have a cbr). Sure you can vary it if you want, but this sounds a bit much

possibly due to suspension set up....

and overall riding style.

You know everybody always says the size of your chicken strips don't matter it's not an indicator, etc....but at the same time it's slighly prideful for some people. I mean if this was not the case you wouldn't have people buying take offs then saying, yeah I ride the track when they don't even know what a track looks like.

It's kinda like penis size. People can tell you over and over that size doesn't matter and you can believe them. But you can't convince me that a woman enjoys 4.5 inches over 9....you just can't.

Too much pressure on the front? hmmm. I do sit back as far as possible, hard to transition smoothly with your junk on the tank!
i was just saying that, because you did not give enough information to tell what your problem was if there really was one.

Lots of bad info being posted here.

Make sure your tires are inflated correctly. I generally run 34f and 36r, pretty much on every street bike I've ever owned. Actually, dump the Shinkos and put some quality tires on there. Dunlop, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Michelin, Metzeler. Shinko?

You are not going to get even wear front vs. rear. I go through 2 rears to 1 front.

Have someone help you set your suspension up. Or get the manual out and go back to stock and start over. Find someone who knows what they are doing, even if you have to pay them.

Don't worry about "chicken strips". The only people that it matters to is the goobers that hang out at Starbucks and talk about other peoples tires.
