"Riverside news headline provided by the Riverside Police Department:

On October 12, 2009, at 8:36 a.m., officers of the Riverside Police Department responded to a major injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. A 2002 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling west on Indiana Avenue in the #2 lane from La Sierra Avenue, when a 2002 Ford Focus drove north across Indiana Avenue from the driveway of the shopping center and hit the motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle was ejected and the motorcycle hit two other vehicles.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 36-year-old male from Fontana, was transported by AMR ambulance to Riverside Community Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Ford Focus, a 94-year-old male from Riverside, was not injured.

Members of the Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded and the collision is under investigation. Anyone with further information is asked to call Detective Ken Madsen at (951) 353-7989."

Very, very sad news today. Everyone stay safe, esp now that the rainy season starts, at least here in SoCal + winds.

wow, i just read this...what the FUCK is a 94 year old man doing driving...in all seriousness, he could potentially even just croak behind the wheel and end up killing someone else

about 3 wks ago ago 2 brothers that own a local restaurant were out for a ride, was a beautiful day out. some 74 year old fell asleep at the wheel (in the middle of the day) , rode across into the other lane and got into a head-on with one of them and killed him...he also clipped the 2nd bike, but the 2nd rider got away with minor injuries. he supposedly didn't wake up until he then crashed into a telephone pole. of course, said old man was unharmed.

rip
