On October 12, 2009, at 8:36 a.m., officers of the Riverside Police Department responded to a major injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. A 2002 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling west on Indiana Avenue in the #2 lane from La Sierra Avenue, when a 2002 Ford Focus drove north across Indiana Avenue from the driveway of the shopping center and hit the motorcycle.
The rider of the motorcycle was ejected and the motorcycle hit two other vehicles.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 36-year-old male from Fontana, was transported by AMR ambulance to Riverside Community Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Ford Focus, a 94-year-old male from Riverside, was not injured.
Members of the Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded and the collision is under investigation. Anyone with further information is asked to call Detective Ken Madsen at (951) 353-7989."
