I believe if you don't get your first service done at a dealership that it voids your warrenty. I'm going to get mine done next Friday. They said it would take 3.5 hours...07BlackZZR said:I need to get this done and i am wondering a few things. How much does this cost, on average? What all does it entail? Can someone with little experience on bikes do these things himself?
Wow... an honest dealership? Too bad you're like 5 hours from Chicago, maybe moreVertigo said:Wow they are screwing you. My shop told me $55, and an hour or so. They even told me that I could do it myself if I wanted to, and it would be fine.
Jay, where do you buy the K&N filters from? Are they the re-usable ones or just one-use ? I don't want to pay $15 at the dealer for a kawi filter anymore... what a rip-offZZRrocket said:The first service is an over priced oil change. I did it myself for less than $25.00. I used a OEM oil filter and KawaChem at 20 miles and 600 miles. Now I'm using a K&N oil filter and KawaChem 20W50 oil. I keep all of my receipts an maintain a maintenance log for everything I have done to the bike.
