I am thinking about getting rid of my stock exhaust on my 2005 SV650s. I am new to the sportbike world and have no clue what is good. I know pipes have different affects on different bikes. My question is what is the difference between slip ons and midpipes, and what do ya'll recommend putting on my SV?

a slip on is probably going to be your best bet unless you plan on racing the SV.

A full system I believe will require a power commander and dyno runs to optimize performance.

A slip on should give you about two more HP and the new can usually weighs about ten pounds less than stock.

i just took a Yoshimura RS3 SS slip on off of my 04 SV650s and replaced it with a CF TwoBrothers C2. The pipes both sound comparable and the Two brothers is a bit lighter since its Carbon fiber.

hope that helps.
