Very interested in in new exhaust and/or sound. What can you recommend that isn't too loud? I see where the Two Brothers may be a little on the loud side. Can I save some jack and just drill the stock cans? If so, what's the best method?

Thanks in advance!

I have the Two Bros CF and it does sound extremely nice, but they are loud

ive found the quietest rpm is about 4k so i try to cruise through my neighborhood at that. any lower and its a very bassy, almost blaring sound. I also have tried just going up to 5th or 6th gear and idling through my neighborhood.

Apparently the silencers dont really do much to quiet the sound, but its up to you

Pretty much all aftermarket exhaust is going to be somewhat loud at highway speeds (some have Db killers available). All of them will give you about the same minimal gains in HP.

In the end it comes down to your budget and what you think looks best.

I have the Scorpion Carbon Fiber pipes. With the new look tips they now compete in the looks dept. with the more expensive competition.

My choice came down the the Two Bros. in Stainless (carbon option was way more than I wanted to spend) or the Scorps in Carbon...the price difference made it an easy choice (had they still been sporting the old style tips...well...who knows). Also, judging sound from you tube clips and other soundfiles can be tricky. All are compressed and very few, if any, were recorded with pro sound capturing equipment. Keep that in mind when making your decision.

Here are mine, freshly installed:

BTW, if you are interested in drilling out the exhaust but afraid of not liking the results I have my stock can laying around. Spring for shipping and you have a throw away test system!

I drilled my stock pipes with less than stellar results. :/ Your best bet is going aftermarket. I went with some carbon fiber leo vince cans. They didn't come with db killers though and are LOUD! I like it though :)

I say just keep the stock exhaust and install playing cards on the forks so that the spokes slap them when the wheel spins. Not too loud but adds a little throatiness.

i have heard almost every exhaust for the FZ6 (I have heard all listed above).

Quiet to loud rankings:
1. Scorpion
2. Leo Vince with db killers installed
3. Two Brothers
4. Leo Vince with db killers out

Scorpions make our bikes sound like a bone stock R6 with the factory small muffler installed. Not loud but once you rev it, it gets louder.

Two brothers have the coolest looking Carbon weave but are very pricey amongst the competition and are quite loud.

Leo Vince, in my opinion, are juuuuust right. I have had mine for 18 months and 14k miles and still get frequent compliments on their sound. Also, they should include a cat eliminator and db killers when you buy them.

Also, not listed, I have heard Remus on a FZ6 and stock cans drilled. Both of these sounded worse than any of the above. The drilled cans were very high pitched, almost shrill. Similarly, the Remus was also very high pitched and lacked the nice deep idle burble that all the others listed posess.

Hope this helps.
