I am suspecting an ebay scam going around. "Ebay" so called... sent me this email today.

Im not sure if it is real or not, but they are asking to update billing information? That sounds just like a load of bullcrap.
More like the foreigners designed this and are trying to get ur CC and ur billing info.

Also, usually when i get an email from Ebay security, it reads "Ebay Security" as the sender. Today... it was just "Ebay..." which i thought was suspicious.

Sorry If I am wrong.

UPDATE:

actually, i am for sure that I am correct. If you notice, this is the websites link they give you http://www.ijuicomp.com.br/. /.aw-confirm/update.html

that is not the correct link from Ebay.

I'm pretty sure the term for that kind of fraudulent email is Phishing. I might be wrong, a more internet savvy person is free to correct me.

This is the new "fad" in the online world. Don't fall for it. These groups will also send you emails claiming to be financial institutions, banks, PayPal, it goes on and on. If you follow the links long enough, you'll see where their facade starts breaking down. Please don't give out your info.

Thats it. Dam tunas.

I get a bunch of them a week. Plus others from banks and all manner of shit.

I got one from Bank of Hawaii recently wanting me to update my account info.... the link was going to Bank of Hawaii then redirected to a IP from Amsterdam! Funny thing is I only have $5 in a savings account I quit using at least 10 years ago.... they pissed me off with bullshit bounced check fees so I closed the checking and left 5 bux in the savings account to keep it open. They lose money on accounts like that sending balance statements each month LMAO :lol

Your financial institution or Ebay both know better, and would NEVER ever sk you those kinds of details. I am in the USAF and Military in general, and we are being warned of similar scams where the offenders are trying to pose as official Mypay.mil etc, (which for those of you who don't know you can, through the real people set up allotments each month, savings plan, bill pay, etc) and it is both a huge security risk both for the military, as well as your precious bank account/credit info.

Just know that any respectable financial institution would never and I say NEVER ask such shit over the web, much less via unsecure email.

scam scam scam.
