2 tropical systems Bonnie and Charlie look like they are going to come in at Fl and move to DC 1 day apart ... rainfall from GA to VA could be huge Fri and Sat ... just a heads up ... be aware before you take off on any long hauls ...

Thanks a lot Jim, you just ruined my day!...J/K of course. The weather has however considering I have a huge weekend planned to ride with my good friend jk750 up in the DC area. I was just kidding today that the last time he and I had big plans was to go to birmingham for the AMA races last summer. Then on the day I was to fly out, hurricane Isabel moved in and leveled the place. Anyone care to calculate the odds of this? Decided to hunker down with my family and be the man. It turned out to be a good decission considering we lost power for almost 2 weeks and I was needed to keep the generator running and all the other "man" stuff. As a result of my heads up decission making, I lost my tickets and my money but not my marriage. Wouldn't have made it to see my 10th anniversary present...my bike. Wouldn't be selling you all the awesome FE kit either. :cheers
Cheers!

Fair Warning about those rains: My car just got out of the shop from the LAST one.

If it's raining that hard, steer clear of the baltimore area. 695 was flooded out to the point that it was *flowing over the jersey walls* on one side....$2200 later, I got my car back. I was luckier than most....

Make sure you have alternate places to go, alternate routes, or at least money enough to get rain gear/cigs at a gas station while you wait out the rain....it's gettin to be nasty season up here.

it got me already?

I got caught in some of the early 'bands' being kicked up here to coastal NC. We are noooooo strangers to hurricanes. Have had two eyes go right over us here.

I'm home now because I bailed between appointments and brought the bike home to switch out for the car.

A friend gave me his '03 HD heritage softail for the weekend to "ride all u want" figures it will rain the whole weekend :dunno

Unfortunely during a month that we been having a gorgeous august summer in KC (75 degrees this year vs. normal 100+ august tempertures), my works sent me to south florida for a couple weeks. Not only did I have to trade 75 degree gorgeous weather for 95 degree 95% humidity weather, I have to deal with Hurricane Charley.

Speaking of all the rain and driving. A buddy of mine hit some water Sat. morning and hydroplaned, wrecked his wife's 4 runner with both of his kids in the back.

Everyone is OK. But they were lucky, the back end went in the ditch, hit a tree and busted the back glass out.

Worst part for him is his wife hardly ever lets him drive the 4 runner, now he'll never get to drive it again. ha ha ha
