I just started riding a few days ago, put a couple hundred miles on the bike so far. I have no problem making a left turn, my buddy says he is surprised how far i lean in left turns for a noob but I can't lean in a right turn to save my life(well I prolly could lol). Why is that? I just feel more comfortable making a left turn, I dont think it has anything to do with the throttle being on that side either...

I had an issue with right hand turns within my first <200 miles, but was able to overcome that after getting throttle modulating down. They do also tend to be a bit sharper than left turns, but it's a non issue anymore though.
I was putting more pressure on, read-grabbing the life out of, my handlebars initially, so right turns sometimes i'd blip the throttle unexpectedly since i'd be putting unnecessary force there.

I still like to cover my clutch and sometimes feather it depending on the maneuver, just in case I somehow grab too much gas, I take 90 degree turns pretty slow still no matter what though, for now.

Im at 500 miles now, i've learned lots, but i'm still such a noob - i'm just glad i'm not terrified to be on the thing anymore, although it's still taking ME for a ride, not the other way around yet.

It'll feel like that for a while... But the day your bike feels like an extension of your body, and you click through gears, pour through turns, and maneuver that thing like it's not even a machine - that's the day you feel like it was all worth it.

I went through the phase that i was "aware" of not being aware of my bike as much. Like I didn't have to mentally prepare for a gear change or concentrate on an upcoming corner, it just flowed... Quite an experience to say the least.

Lefts used to be much easier for me than rights until I crashed in a left corner and broke my collar bone. Now rights feel more natural to me. Not sure if it's psychological or just that I loss some range of motion in my left shoulder.

right turns are usually more sharp then left turns.

If the right turns feel more awkward, make sure also that you're body is not fighting against you in that direction. You may feel more comfortable moving your body and leaning in left turns, but you may be sitting straight up or even pushing away with your body on the right turns, making it feel even tougher.

Picture in your mind an invisible centerline drawn down the bike from the headlights thru your seat to the taillights. Make a conscious effort to look where you want to go, and stick at least your head over that center-line of the bike.

I'm left eye dominant and right handed. I go faster and more confidently through right handed turns because I can apex easier since I don't have to worry about vehicles in the other lane, whereas with left hand turns I usually stay centered in my lane to avoid having to adjust my line if a car decides to cross the center line.
