So I was in charge of 'cooking' tonight, so that meant I had to park the FZ because I couldn't figure out how to carry two large pizzas and an order of cheese sticks. :bitchslap

...any ideas for next time? :lao

Yup..bungee net works great.

I took my scorpion pipes in the original box (pretty large box) down to my mechanics...on the back of the FZ with a bungee net. Worked great.

Steps for carrying pizzas and cheese sticks in saddlebag:

1. Remove pizzas from those silly cumbersome boxes they come in.

2. Jam the slices into a plastic bag like they give you at the grocery store.

3. Dump the cheese sticks and sauce on top of the pizza.

4. Form the mass into a shape that fits into the saddlebag.

5. Tell the family the pizza joint was sold out of pizza and you got their new pepperoni, green pepper, and cheese stick lasagna.

Don't forget to get plastic forks and knives from the shop- you'll need them.

Then you'll need a commodious GIVI box and some light packing (a fleece jacket?) to keep your precious cargo stationary. It might be a bit easier to pack if you get two boxes to stack, so things don't rattle around in there. :)

I've been doing all my shopping on the bike for months. I can carry eggs, bread, and fruit, with no problems. The key with crushables is a careful combination of cords and bungies to avoid pulling directly on the crushables. I think the funniest load I ever had was a combination of groceries and a heavy floor lamp in box that was 2' x 2' x 8". It looked crazy, but it stayed in place and everything got home safe.

Slightly off topic, but here goes. I have a buddy that likes to drink...a lot! He never, ever drives if he's drinking. He came up with a rather ingenious way to get home from the bars.

He walks down the street and orders a pizza. He then has it delivered to his house...with HIM riding with the delivery driver. Works like a charm.

If you're really serious about bringing home the pizzas, get yourself one of those red insulated pizza bags the delivery drivers carry. My Dad bought one a few years ago and fabbed up a little PVC rack for the rear of his Honda Metro (49cc, 4-stroke) scooter. insulated pizza delivery bag

ftw.

I carried a 32 pack of select home on the back of the bike w/ bungie chords, was gettin crazy looks to boot. A cop even pulled up to me and lowered his window, he said "you know that technically isn't legal." I replied with "yep." and continued on my way lol.

I one observed a bike coming from the opposite direction that seemed to have the worlds largest/tallest/widest sissy bar. As he passed I saw he had a lawnmower bungied to the back of the bike. Surely if that guy could manage that you can figure out a couple of simple pizza boxes ... :)

Hmmm...Why wouldn't this be legal?

Man, when I was stationed in Korea back in the nineties, the motorcyclists would carry anything and everything! I saw a freakin' refrigerator on the back of a little ass 125. Those guys are crazy!

My buddy has one from when he used to delever. One day we are going to fab something up to put in on the bike. To bad he does not have the heating element though.
