Hey everyone,
I was looking into a fendor elimnator kit for my F4, but when I took the tail apart today to get a feel for the process, I noticed that a fendor eliminator will not have the key lock function for my seat release. Where do you guys relocate the seat release cable with or without the lock if you have a fendor eliminator kit?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you get the Competition Werkes fender eliminator, it relocates the seat release to a spot right behind the license plate bracket. It also makes use of the stock license plate light. At least that's how it is on the F4i, so I would assume it's the same or similar for the F4.

I was looking at the Competition Werkes kit, but do you relaly just get a couple small pieced of sheet metal for $100? Doesn't seem quite right, but it does look nice and clean.

It is rather expensive for what you get, but it is a really clean fit and a smooth installation. It allows for relocation of that seat release and the license plate light; the light may not be necessary depending on how lenient the cops are around you, but it makes for one less hassle.

Personally, I am incapable of creating a clean fender eliminator from scratch. Engines I can work with, making things pretty--not so much. I wanted a clean look on my '01 F4i (which I sold) and have ordered the same kit for my current '03 F4i. I've attached a couple of pictures of what it looked like with short stalk turn signals on my previously owned '01.

Yes it really is just a few pieces of metal, and with the F4 kit a little license plate light as well. It is a fairly easy process, but it is somewhat of a guessing game as far as cutting, at least with the instructions that i got from Competition Werkes. I think that the kit is overpriced, but god it makes a bike look so much better, and the metal is of good quality and always takes a good shine. Here is the best pic i could find of my F4 with it installed. It does come with brackets so you can put your stock turn signals on as well, i just have them integrated into my LED board so no need for them.

Thanks for the pics fellas, it does definitely look a lot better with the kit. I guess it will be a future investment for me as well.

Kevin, you mentioned having to cut the kit yourself? I'm assuming that means it doesn't come fitted for an F4?

No, they make a kit that fits directly to the F4, but i was refering to the cutting of the black plastic undertail to get the metal undertail to fit up. Just take your time and don't cut too much at once, you can always cut more off, but you can't replace it after you cut it off. It really isn't that hard of an install, just make sure you go into it with some patience, as it takes time to figure out the exact area and how much to cut. I used a hacksaw blade, although if i were to do it again i would use a hot knife, which i have since purchased, which cuts plastic much cleaner. They can be picked up at any walmart, but if you don't feel like buying anything extra, a hacksaw blade will make the cut just fine. I just thought that for a $100, they could have included a bit better detailed pictures, other than black and white pictures that looked like the they were copied on a $5 copy machine.
