I was just trying to figure out if you have to have the special tools to remove the bearings out of the front wheel that the service manual talks of or not...

You can remove them with a punch and hammer if you want, but you risk damaging the hub. With the bearing on the GSXR wheel I put on my SV I could just heat the hub, move the spacer a bit and tap the bearing out with a punch. Eventually I'll buy a blind bearing remover, to make things a bit easier.
