I ditched work today and did the ride up 89 to Prescott again because I had so much fun last Sunday. This time around wasn't nearly as good.
There is one particular right hand turn a few miles before Prescott that is a real bitch. If you've done the ride you prolly know the one I'm talking about... It a switch back that you lead into going down hill and exit going uphill.
I went in carring way to much speed, almost 45 mph, ending up way wide and right in the way of a little Nissan pickup. He saw me coming (thank God) and hit the brakes and pulled up almost into the hill. I swung back into my own lane humbled and a little wiser, I hope.
Took me about 10 miles to regain my composure. I still can't believe he saw me and was able to get out of the way. Otherwise I'd be dead right now.
