David Bailey was one of the greatest Motocross racers of all time.
Nearly 20 years ago David was paralyzed in a pratice crash, now he's back out and riding again!! :dblthumb

Thats pretty cool! I want to see how the controls are set up. You could tell that Bailey was excited. Thanks for the link! I also checked out the other videos and RC and Bubba are just too humble on camera. I bet they flame each other after the races though especially if one of them goes down! I can't wait for the outdoors!

^^ No prob! I love seeing stuff like that! I like the attitudes Bailey and RC have, they are outstanding spokes people for the sport. Good looking, polite and Humble.

Geeze I saw one of the metal malita doods and groaned. Gawd they look like gangbangers. Jerks. They do more harm to the sport than the hells angels did to motorcycling in the 60 -70's. ..... the kids are into the freestyle so much and there parents see doods that look like bangers... and the MM dingle berrys think there soooo cool cause they look like punks. ARUGH. Sorry /rant off... Im in a bad mood

I heard that at Lake Whitney someone got killed on a start. No one really knows the details MX is definitley scary man...

It's great that David Bailey and Ricky James have been given a chance to ride again :fiddy (I believe the bike David is riding is Ricky's)
Funny how life works... Ricky was trained with David before he got paralyzed

That's great. I always loved David Bailey, even though I never saw him in action (my Dad has pictures of him racing from way back when...). I only remember when he used to commentate with Art Eckman on ESPN. Just shows you if there's a will theres a way. I know RJ and him are good friends from when I took a school with RJ awhile back... he always talked very fondly of him.

BTW, the whole MM thing and the trend surrounding it, KH, is dying off. There's still a small insurgence of it, but at the races now if you're seen in those Gawd-awful over the boot baggy pants, etc. you are immediately tagged as a :squid . The freestylers are also getting more proffesional it seems, which is good. I'm disgusted it lasted as long as it did too. :rolleyes

Thanks Carolyn Ya it is Rickys bike. David made a few comments about not wanting to wear out Rickys bike and he has to try harder because Ricky stepped it up a bit (Davids training with Ricky)


Ya the starts are always nasty. Used to scare me half to death, once I got going I was digging it but the starts always got the full battalion of butterflys into action. Used to make me feel like I was gunna puke alot of times before a race. But then again all the starts I got that way, even racing cars. Not so much when I was racing full body cars but the sprints definatly put the fear of ? into me... but they also had the knarliest wrecks too

Only time I ever got knocked out in my life was in a sprint car crash. The steering box sector shaft sheared just as I went into the first turn.

Instead of turning, I went full throttle straight into the wall at about 90 Gawd what a impact!
