I wish they made a DR650SM. I'm 6'5 and 230lbs so the 400 is to small. I just bought a 2007 XR650L because it fits me so good.

Im 6'3 and 250 pounds and Ive ridden a klx400 and its really fun to ride around on. I think its fast because any bike out there is faster than the bike i own right now.

< eliminator 125 Once i come to a compleat stop on that bike it has a hard time starting to move me again.

The DRZ400s is b***** and has a taller seat height than the DR650, and more powerful than the air-cooled 650. You can't compare the sm version with its 17"s to a stock dr650... If you compare the 400S to the 650 the 400 beats it everywhere except on the interstate with its longer legs. We're all wishing they'd build a DRZ450SM, with RM motor and alum frame, that would be sweet.

I bought one for a daily driver/ track bike. It will destroy any sportbike at deals gap. So if your into the twisties this is the bike for you. It's also a great bike to teach the fundamentals to. I hate to call anything a starter bike being that all should be equally respected. This is a great bike for all experience levels.
