:dblthumb Was heading out for a fun ride with the wife doing 75 in a 55. No one around and up ahead, sitting in front of a row of trees was a dark brown squad car with tan writing. The LEO had me dead to rights. I knew it, he knew it. Hell, even yellow dog knew it. He was gonna come after me, so I pulled over about 20 yards from his car in a driveway for a business. He didn't even have to drive his car. He walked over to me.

As he approached, my wife was punching me in the back (joking) and I was laughing. I took my helmet off and told him that he had the best hiding spot I'd ever seen. I was laughing because my wife was mad and because I'd driven past that spot 1000 times and never saw anyone there.

he was really cool and since I pulled over right away, he gave me a warning. I asked if my wife could be arrested for assault, and he laughed some more. He told me to slow down and have a good ride. He didn't even say how fast he clocked me going. He was very cool. :dblthumb

if i ever get into a department that would bem y policy WITHIN reason of course but for the most part. Discretion, love it

It's better when they come knock on your door answering a neighbor's complaint and can't do shit.

Then they tell you that to alleviate the speeding complaints they're just going to set up radar traps in the subdivision.

To which you reply "Park your car by that stop sign there and bring a full ticket book."

I don't know why, but that pissed him off. :D Fucker.

Then I saw him driving out of the neighborhood doing 30 in a 20.

I've tried this approach before and they best results I have gotten from the officer is them lowering the speed on my ticket.

Glad to hear you got off with a warning though Jester27, ya lucky bastard!! :twofinger

I've also tried that approach but I usually just get a big ticket.

+1....

Ive always said "yes sir, no sir". Never gave them shit, never really denied it- i think i said "i didnt think i was going THAT fast..."

Only thing ive gotten was a reduced speed on the ticket.

i've tried being nice, honest, lied my ass off, just about everything and all i got out of it was 7 tickets, one accusation of being on drugs, pulled out of the car, and i have gotten out of being pulled over once... i guess it just depends where you are, and not being a 21 year old male.

I always have lots of love for cops ..Everyone so far has gave me us warnings or let me off or even asked me to ride with them.

I've actually had one State Trooper get upset with me because I was responding with "Yes, sir." - "No, sir." Maybe he thought I was being sarcastic.

The only time I've gotten out of a ticket (not that I didn't deserve each one I've ever received) was when I was in my Marine Corps' Dress Charlie uniform escorting a Poolee from the depot. I could tell by the conversation with the officer he was a Former Marine.

Yup, be cool...it'll pay off more often than not. I gave a guy a break for 122 in a 55 on the interstate a couple weeks ago. There were two reasons- #1) he was probably the nicest guy I've stopped in 15 years & totally took responsability for his actions without knowing what the outcome of the stop would be........#2) I wanted to see the look on his face when he realized he'd be driving away a free man. As the commercial says......"Priceless".

I got to give a blue light escort to over 500 bikes yesterday that were doing a Veterans Memorial Ride, and I was in my glory. Hell, probably 98% of them were riding Harleys, and it was still cool as shit!

If you ever get stopped, just pray that the cop is a fellow rider because it really is a brotherhood. Really, we're not all dicks!

for those who have gotten off on tickets or gotten a majorly reduced fine how old are you. My stepfather is a police officer, my grandfather is police officer, I have nothing but respect for LEO's and am always very respectful and have never gotten a warning, or even a friendly face from an LEO I can only think this is because of my age. I'm always in gear never wheeling, doing stoppies, or weaving through traffic, just generally riding spiritedly by myself, and this is true even when I get pulled over in my car.

I mean my girlfriend called when she was pregnant, in pain, scared to death and I was rushing home from work in my truck to see what was wrong and the cop still gave me a ticket, and told me she should have driven herself to the hospital or called an ambulance and I could have met her there. She ended up having a misscarriage before I got there. He said I could have killed someone doing 65 in a 45 in my truck, like if I was driving a gew metro I would have gotten a warning.

I can only think I get the additude because I'm young(23). So for all those who have get shit and who don't get shit from cops state your age and lets see if it is an age issue.

i tried being nice last time but the cop just said he'd rather give me a ticket than scrape me off the road... everyone who goes 10mph over the limit will kill themselves i guess...

i dont have nothin against him, im sure he see's a lot of idiots hurt themselves but i was just havin fun in the corners

but an officer did let me go going 63 in a 40 in my car once, i just talked to him like a fellow man, didn't kiss ass, didn't treat him like an ass

+1 on that. I've given out more breaks that Bruce Lee. Every Cop is different. Every stop is different.
Every rider and every motorist is different. You can't judge any one of them from any other previous experience.
