i think that's a slight variation on a standard v-twin engine. with the counter rotating counterweight.

They dont own the patent on ALL v-twin's or anything, no. That's been in the public domain for a while, i'd guess.

unless you're saying it's news that they patented a new type of v-twin engine, and think they're getting into motorcycle production? that would be sweet....

Well since Chrysler was bought by DaimlerBenz they've been sharing a lot of technology. And Daimler was one of the inventors of the motorcycle, so maybe that's worth something.
