A guy I know bought a zx6 with new tires in August and by spring(cold winters) he showed me his rear tire. To my surprise he had no chicken strips, none, not even a centimeter. What is interesting is that this is his 1st bike. Now I don't care for the guy so much because he is a cocky jackass and constantly brags about everything.

can you eliminate your chicken strips with a slanted burnout ? How long would it take to eliminate them if you handed over your bike to a pro rider for a day? Ive seen this guy ride and ridden with him 2 -3 times and he never leans over to far so I don't know how he eliminated them.

ideas?

U-turns in a parking lot can make them go away

Sand paper can make them go away

Maybe he swapped tires?

Maybe he let his friend use it for a day

I scrubbed my chicken strips completely off within a week of getting my new Pilot Powers... I don't think I'm a great rider and I have never been to a track (yet).

I know I got some lean on, but I did in no way ride like someone would/could on a track.

To sum it up: Chicken strips don't mean shit.

"Chicken strips" don't mean shit. You will find guys like him with no chicken strips, yet as you stated, is no indicator of riding style or skill. You will also find guys that have "chicken strips" yet have tremendous amounts of skill. Don't look at the brand of motorcycle, displacement, or chicken strips. Look at the rider.

I can't get rid of those pesky Metzeler Elephants for anything, and I can get out of my own way. Chicken strips on a bike ridden on the street means that you are not riding like a squid. Too many things can go wrong when you are pushing the limits.

Well...

Comparing the size of chicken strips to see who is the better rider is basically like checking out the guys in the gym shower to see who is the best lover. Neither one will prove anything except that you have a bad habit of looking at the wrong things.
