my gixxer wont charge its battery.Reved it up to 4000rpms and
it never got over 12volts.So which one the stator or the rectifier?

could be either one I think...in my 600f2 it was the stator.

but then again, my battery just died last saturday so it might be the battery too.

I got a new one.

You need to measure the stator output to find out. It's basically an AC generator. It should have 3 wires coming out and into the reg/rec. Set your multimeter to AC Volts and disconnect the stator from the regulator. Check between pairs of wires from the stator. Like A-B B-C and A-C. Anything less than say 70 VAC and you have a dead winding on the stator..

At first I thought it was the battery.Changed it out then a few days later
it went down.I will check the stator like you said.

Just thinking you did make sure and rev the bike up around 5K when you did the stator test didn't you???

boy I wish I lived near someone who could fix bikes...I wanna learn to do this stuff myself.

Saving money is whats its all about these days...
ZXLNT...I reved it to 5000 rpms had 70 volts for
a second then nothing at all did it on two different meters.
