hey my friend wants to sell me some 5 inch speakers for my car... anyway, there are spots where the cone on the outside is pushed in. Will this affect the sound or anything of the speaker? Thanks

as long as it is limited to the center of the cone it SHOULD be ok. That cone in th ecenter really serves no purpose but to stop dust from getting sucked back into the speaker when it moves. If however that cone was pushed in when the speaker was powered it could have damaged it because if the voice coil was powered and the speaker was pushed off center you could have had contact between the coil and the inside of magnet which could have shorted, but it would have to have been pushed hard and really aggressively to do that.
