New to this, never posted before. Been ridin for about 5 years, but never bought new. I am thinking about buying the new 06 Raven R1. What is a good price (live in san diego, cali) and where is a good place to go. Also how do you get out of paying the crate fees. Thanks for all the help!

I haven't been there yet but all you hear about in SoCal is Escondido Cycle Center. One of my co-worker's husband just picked up a '06 Honda 1000rr there. I have another co-worker looking at an '06 Honda VFR 800. Go with the trend and don't be a black sheep...GO TO ESCONDIDO CYCLE CENTER!

I would say to go to South Bay. I have bought 4 bikes from there and they are as straight up as you can find. Go in there and ask for Aaron he actually know's what he's talking about. And even know it's San Diego (expect to pay more then pretty much any where else) you should get a good deal. Either that or save yourself some money and go up to LA. Watch out for hidden fees and other assorted bullshit. Do not get emotionally involved and review everything on the paperwork. Cross shop at different dealers and don't be afraid to walk away and think it over or see what else turns up.

Don't shop tired or hurried.

If you don't mind the wait... Yamaha is expected to roll out the a totally new R1 for the 2007 model year. Expect first bits and pieces of news this September and they will likely hit showrooms late January or early February.

Thanks for the info. I tried Escondido Cycle Center, but they don't sell yami's. What store in the South Bay or is that the name where you got your bikes? Any help with not paying the set-up fees?

Got It!

Picked up my R1 today! Unbelievable. Still breaking it in, but the little bit of power I did test out was amazing. Got good deal too, 11,900 OTD, especially in SoCal. Will get some picks up soon!

Everyone I know that's got one....has this problem...one thing you can start with is wearing your leathers.Perhaps an aftermarket seat....its one reason I bought the 10...although IMO the R1 is the best looking literbike.

Congrats on the bike. I picked up an F4i from those guys a few years ago.
