well I bought my bike off of eBay, but the bike was nearby so I got a chance to look at it before I bought it. I would suggest you do the same. If you want to buy from someplace out of state, just treat it like any other ebay item. Buyer beware, email him, check his feedback, etc. Good luck.

I had a similar experience as Lok. I bought my first bike (Katana 600) on Ebay. I too was able to go and see the bike in person before I made a bid. There are so many scams on Ebay today that I'm not sure I would risk it sight unseen.

Bought my first bike off ebay, but the guy was local so there wasn't really a problem. If its not local and you can't pay them in person I woudln't recommend it, too many scams going on. Also too many stolen bikes up for sale that don't come with titles, w/o that your bike is no good...

As an option: since you're on the board, you can always try to find somebody close to the bike you're looking for. That person could go and check it out for you.
