Eventually, I'll get some nice speakers, a CD/DVD burner, and I also need a network card. I just bought a 19" CRT monitor - nothing special but LCDs are so expensive especially when I'm pouring all this money into this PC. I can't wait until it's built!

if you are going to spend that kind of money on a GFX card i'd get an X800. there are two versions XT and PRO, i think pro is cheaper...not sure. these cards are twice as fast as an 9800 and are a little over $400. that sapphire 9800XT is $414. you could get an X800 for that price. actually there's a sapphire X800 on there for $418 but won't be in stock (it says) until 7/25.

edit: i tried to link to the X800 Pro models they have but it doesn't work...

i've never built an Intel, only AMD but that Motherboard looks good. i like that the Abit has a heatsink and fan on the northbridge. My asus ain't got shit and it runs hot.

Make sure you buy one of the models that doesn't have the government enabled video capturing and monitoring technology magically built into the CRT or LCD diodes.

do you really need a $200 sound card. I know you might want the top of the line everything but do you think you'd be able to notice the a big difference between that audigy and this?
My nForce audio suits me just fine and I paid $0. :)

oh... and you might wanna get this for your heatsink and sit this on top of it.

just a couple suggestions :headbang

LOL!!

how bout an AMD instead of a pentium??? should be a bit cheaper with the same performance... not sure if AMD makes that speed though.. haven't looked into CPU's in a while... but they normally keep up pretty good with Intel as far as releasing higher speeds for CPU;s... just a thought..

Also, consider getting the new 10krpm Raptor hard drives, more expensive, but if you get two of them and run them in RAID config, they FLY. Also I say go with AMD too, even the Athlon 64 FX-54 (or whatever it is) is cheaper than the Pentium and from what I hear, outperforms it in gaming especially.

Looks good. Except, I'd probably skip the sound card altogether since that motherboard has on board 5.1 audio with SPDIF connections. Also, unless you are overclocking, I would skip the extra case fan and heatsink. The processor already comes with a heatsink and fan. That and the fact that the video card also has a built in fan should mean that the standard built in case fan will be sufficient. It will also make your case quieter.
