Police blotter

A Palm Beach Gardens man died early Monday after he crashed his motorcycle near the intersection of Okeechobee Boulevard and Military Trail west of West Palm Beach. Mario Hernandez, 26, was traveling at high speeds when he lost control while changing lanes just after midnight. The front end of his 1982 Yamaha Maxim struck the median, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. He was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center and died at 3:30 a.m. from injuries he sustained in the crash. Hernandez was not wearing a helmet, according to the sheriff's office.

I blame the state of Florida and the people that voted to a "no helmet law"... RIP to the rider and more so, sadness for the family.

Honestly I like the helmet law the way it is...it should go for seatbelts also...we need some way to thin the pop...my last couple of trips to Orlando maybe 5% of the riders I saw had helmets on.

I think some personal responsibility should come into play.

Do we need laws to prevent the stupid from being just that?

if he didnt kill himself by not wearing a helmet he would kill himself someother stupid way.

Yellow:5%; were these cruisers or sportbikers? Sad either way.
