I know we need another crud run thread like a... "insert analogy here" but I'd like to get a decent head count for the BFS crud run group. Based on the head count I've got a few ideas to toss around.

1) I think we should leave earlier than 9 if we have a lot of people if we plan on hitting Pine Bluff.
2) If we have a lot of people I think i'd be a good idea to have a few people with a good knowledge of the route in case somehow we get split up.

And if i'm overthining this you can also tell me to STFU!

Quoting FZ1 Matt...

They wouldn't even let people park in the lot of what used to be Kitt's Korner last year. It was quite stupid.
I'm not against going to Pine Bluff, but if Matt says "it was quite stupid"...it must have been "quite stupid" and probably not worth it. I know that sexyicecold wants to ride into Pine Bluff...it doesn't matter to me either way.

Ryan, I've got a pretty good feeling for your route, plus I've been on a few of those roads before. I've got no problem being the backmarker for the ride. Hell, if I'm not leading a ride, I prefer to be the backmarker to make sure no one gets lost and/or gets left behind.

Moses, since you are the seasoned vetern, know the roads, and know most of the people I think you would make the best lead. I can definately be the backmarker/midmarker (if there is such a thing)?

Oh yeah, and I did some lurking on the madison sportbike site and saw that some of them only do pine bluff and others just do leland. It does seem however that we'd be better off going to lealand with just our group because they say that the huge group ride is a joke. Quoting my avitar, "Its funny, but not ha-ha funny."

Well in Fall 05 we had to park on the street. There were signs on the place that once was Kitts Korner that said no tresspassing. The year before we were allowed to park in the place that was Kitts Korner. They sold that and changed it to Hot Rods - a strip club. I didn't go in because I didn't think Hot Rods was the type of place I wanted to go into hahaha.

Hwy parking last year.

Parking at Hod Rods/ Kitts Korner much better in spring 05 because cars don't threaten to run you over and act like asshats.

I didn't know they had changed to a strip club since I had been there. I met you, Matt, for the first time, where they let everyone park in the lot. It was nice to meet a bunch of people as well as they had a little bbq in the building. If that has changed, my preference to stop in Pine Bluff is a moot point. We can ride straight to Leland.

Personally I didn't think it was that big of a deal if you could park in Hot Rods or not. The restaurant/bar down the street seemed more than willing to allow motorcycles to park in their lot. Yes, parking did overflow into the street, but it sure didn't seem to keep anyone from still going to Pine Bluff. I know it's not going to keep me from going there.

So, Matt, what are you doing this year...going to Pine Bluff and then Leland or straight to Leland?
I might meet some sport touring friends at Perkins at 8am on 83 and i94. I plan on riding to Pine Bluff because it's the tradition. Or not.

I don't know what the big deal is about meeting at Pine Bluff or not. Pine Bluff is closer to Leland so why not stop? I figure all you sportbike people need to stop and rest all the time anyways on your little ninja bike crotch rocket biker boy bikes. :eek:nfloor Not you though Brian. Since I saw you riding in the rain that one day on the way to the Mississippi River, I know you're an ironbutt now. :fiddy

Plus I think we got a better view of the bikes in Pine Bluff. By the time we rolled into Leland (note, we had a small group riding...not the large group deal) the place was packed with folks...and stunters doing tank-wheelies into oncoming riding traffic... :bitchslap Thus crossing the street was interesting.

I personally preferred the Pine Bluff portion as it gave you a chance to look around more. I should be laying down my base coat by Sunday morning (finally). Ya'all be safe.

Don't forget to gas up before we meet at BFS so we can all stop at the same time for gas on the way up there.

I voted technically yes to Pine Bluff, but if it really isnt worth much I honestly dont care. I don't know the route/road to Leland well and never got to do a SCR b/4. I can go either way. (but not like sexyicecold.. )
I have a buddy on a VTX1800 that may be riding along that has a GPS as well just incase we have "getting lost" issues.
