Adamsfz6......... where i ride there's a open road that has quarter mile markers on it it is a decent incline. Got my bike to 109 mph about 10 times( give or take a mile an hour). Just ran it this morning again after i smashed out the baffles and drilled out the cat. Ran a few 112 and hit a 114 on 1 run, these are unoffical...just street numbers. Curious to see what others are running. Thanks Chris

on the back roads here in washington, i had my baby up to about 154 mph (actual), i was at 12,000 RPM's, so she was about topped out....when i had her in nevada on highway 50, i was doing about 150 (actual) and my buddy passed me at 161 mph on his GIXXER 6, it was fun though....

I hit an indicated 155 mph on mine and don't know if it is truly accurate or not but it was freakin' fast as hell and solid as a rock!! :2fingers

Yesterday i got the speedo to get a 137 and it felt as if the bike dropped off. the reading hovered at 135 - 137 for about .5 mile and i got outta it. I weigh about 220 with gear. I have not had any corrections to the speedo and i know it is being a little generious.

sounds like you shifted too early. you should get about 108 outta her at the limiter in 3rd. I was in 5th when i hit 134 (corrected). she's got more. Before i got the speedohealer my speedometer was optimistic by about +11%. It was dead on until a couple of weeks ago when i switched out my front sprocket to a 15 tooth. But that has only changed my speedo +3% since then. :leghump

Not that it's at par with what some of you guys are hitting, but I did 125 indicated for the first time last weekend. The fastest I've ever gone, and it was great.

kdk..............how much did the 15 help in short blasts? I hit 132mph(indicated) and i think i was in forth gear maybe fifth.
the smaller sprocked helped a lot for in town riding and two up riding. I origanlly planned on dragracing next summer but i might have to have a tumor removed from my hip joint and that might mess up my riding for next year.

Congrats!!!! at least our bikes are very stable at high speeds. i like to open her up every now and then. Im not a squid though and i do wear all of my gear.

I hit between 148 to 151 indicated on stock speedo. Didn't want to go that fast but if you ride with two Ducatti's 900s and 3 Hondas 900, I had to keep up. And yes, I was suprised how stable the bike feels at those speeds!!

Yes, I hit an indicated 155. No telling what the actual speed is given speedometer error, but it was fun. This was in 6th gear at 6K' elevation too, with a tailwind and maybe a slight uphill.

i bet your real speed was about 142. from my experiance and what ive read of other's, the bike is off about 10-11% +. thats pretty freakin fast!!

was that a topout at redline or did it start to run out of steam? i havent read anyone bouncing off the rev limiter in 6th yet. i cant test it on my bike cause my hips messed up and i have put away my bike stuff for the winter.

Well, I confess. I have an R6 and it's not redline limited for top speed, it's drag limited. In fact, lot's of guys on the R6messagenet say they've gotten higher top speeds in fifth than sixth. Stands to reason that the Fz6 would be drag limited too.

I've hit 155mph twice now and both times wasn't bouncing off the rev limiter, she felt like she was was creeping ever so slighty faster so I guess your limited by wind resistance or 'drag limited' as it's called.

I don't intend travelling at these speeds again it was one of those what can she do moments then a I wonder if she can do it again moments :)

if that is the case, dropping down the front sprocket like mine might lead to a higher top speed??!! Course wouldnt matter past 12500 rpms, cause that is supposed to be peak HP.

Thanks for the info.

Look at the stripes in the road. At 200+ mph they should be a blur. I doubt his speedometer is very accurate.

Yeah there’s a lot of controversy surrounding this vid... Although the dude is on a Hayabusa, one of the fastest bikes in production. To be able to pull a wheelie from 50Mph and hold it through 140Mph, then drop and effortlessly power to 220Mph burying the speedo sounds a little unbelievable to me too.. Although topped out 11k RPM in 6th on a Busa has got to be movin... :2eek
