Anyone see the small piece on MJ on Two Wheel Tuesday?

Who do you think MJ will have ride for him next year? Obviously it won't be Montez, cuz of all his crashes. Picotte, Pridmore, and other ideas? MJ's hooked on AMA racing and Moto GP. I hope he stays involved in AMA racing. What are your thoughts on this?

He's got the money to have a team. He seems pretty well dedicated to it as well from hearing his interview.
Not sure what his motivation is for having a team. There are certainly more popular sports where he can slap his brand logo. I never saw any NBA/Road Racing connection. Kind of like if Jeremy McGrath started sponsoring a golf team.
So I'm left with the feeling that MJ has a true interest in the sport. So perhaps his team will stick around through a few seasons until they're competitive.
I never gave a damn about MJ, because I don't give a damn about basketball. But it is nice to see some celebrity power behind road racing.
What's this? MJ as in Michael Jordan? You're kidding, right?...

Yes. That MJ. He is part owner of a race team. Kinda girly powder blue bikes (duh...).

That's that Carolina Blue. They had a special in one of the bike mags, too. Maybe Road Racing World, or SSB, can't remember. He sounds like he is legitimately hooked on racing. I agree it's great to see for the sport.

MJ is goin to keep montez...he isnt just MJ's rider, they are good friends. and who cares about crashes dude? its montez's first season in ama and these are all new tracks to him. when you push the limits, your going to crash. look at the hayden brothers, they crashed a lot, but now they are winning.

the question is "whos going to be the new addition" not "whos going to replace"
what bike will his team use?
I saw the interview on Best Damn Sport SHow. He seemed very well deciated to this sport. He's looks very uncomfortable when riding the Gixxer. People have told me his team road Yamaha, but in the interview yesterday he was clearly on a Suzuki brand.
I'm from MJ's hometown.....hope to see him ridin around here!!
Is he riding YAMMI or SUZUKI...I've heard both. The interview showed SUZUKI
I think his team bike is going to be the '04 R1 but I've seen pics of Jordan on this site on a GSXR 1000 in Myrtle Beach.
jordan races with yamaha motorcycles. yamaha r6 and yamaha r1. yamaha is the only company that cut them a deal and that was to sell it to jordan at dealer cost.
So he's going to keep Montez. Good for Montez. I understand it was his first year on most of the tracks I just wished he could have not wrecked as much. I guess you gotta learn the hard way sometimes. I hear that Pridmore or Pascal Picotte will also be riding for MJ next season. That should help Montez out alot. He's got a year under his belt in the AMA Series now all he needs is some guidance from the more experienced and faster riders. I wanna be, I wanna be like Mike!!!
a problem with montez though is that he isnt small or light. he is well over 6ft and muscle. i think the best he will be able to pull off is right around 10th...but its just a guess. but as long as he is having fun, thats all that counts :)
