Just kinda wanted to see what the consensus is. I just got one and am very impressed! It seems to run a little hot in traffic though... I'm in Phoenix and I'm a bit worried if it is running hot at 90deg, what will it do at 110?

90? Are you talking in Celsius? Normal operating temperature while moving should be probably between 170 and 220 (if you're sitting in traffic). 90 and 110 the thing is still cold!!

It has an LCD bar with 6 segments. When it gets to 6, a engine temp warning shows, and you're supposed to shut the bike down... It has gotten up to 5 bars while idoling and slowly moving in traffic... If only I could get 5 bars on my cell phone . I may just take it to the dealer monday and see what they think in the shop... The bike is so new that I have a feeling that I will be the 'lab rat' for any problems that may arrise.

I just found out that when all 6 segments are lit, the coolant temp is 248deg/F. For a bike with this kind of top-end and horsepower and racing demeanor, I wouldn't think traffic would be a problem.

if i am not mistaken that would be the general concensious for all bikes, 90 degrees in slow moving traffic lots of idling, i think any bike would start to over heat in a short amount of time, you gotta find a different route to keep the bike moving.

it shouldnt work any different then a car though, we have fans that come on when it starts getting really hot, they should take care of overheating.

so..how she run.....if it is running hot, id get a 160 degree fan switch installed, would help cool it, right now the fan probly comes on high, like 190-200 and by that time its trying to fight a loosing battle.

Who makes a different temp fan switch to fit a motorcycle? I would figure thats it not just some generic part like you can get for 350 chevy that fits 100's of different models.

She runs great... other than the temp thing... Again, it hasn't yet overheated, the gauge is just higher than I expected, I will take it to the dealer tues and see what they say... meanwhile, I have the chore of breaking her in! What a bitch, having to ride around all day . Gee and with the next 22 days off, what will I do?!?

.Over 2500 on it and couldn't be happier. Use to own VTX 1800 so it has been a change. Bought a ZX10 for my son also but I don't like it. Too small. Both bikes have in creditable power. The ergos on the 14 are more my liking and I got a blue one so I am stuck with the fastest color
