Hey, I've had my concealed carry license since Jan. I always keep a 9mm in the car accessibleto me and the wife. Now I put a 642 .38special under my rear seat, when I ride. I have an ankle holster, but I'm afraid it will show when I stop. I wanted it on me, but the thought of going down with a firearm on me,kinda sucks. Anybody else waste their time packing when they ride, if so why ,besides our cop buddies?

Damn i can not own a gun ever. I would do bad things. Instead of taking a mirror i would take a life(no matter how much that retard who will probably end up killing someone else through gross negligence deserves it) so no gun for me thanxs.

not trying to stir the pot or anything, but whats the point with it being in there. In a rapidly developing situation do you really think you are going to have the time to stop the bike, turn it off, undo the rear seat and then address the problem? I'd almost say you might as well not even carry it if its gonna be in there. It's positioning makes it next to useless...

And no, i'm not anti-gun, I'm just asking...

Also, other than damaging your pistol, I dont see any problem (as far as safety) with going down. Personally, I wouldnt keep it chambered though.

Yeah sheesh, not like that calibur would do the job AT ALL. If you want to talk semantics, power etc this likely isn't the right forum for it. Everyone knows that obviously he should be carrying a deagle. I mean stop pussyfooting around with the .40!

i have one of those atv rifle holders mounted to my bike, because i just never know when a cager needs a 30.06 round to engine block.

Personally, I think the size of gun you carry should be directly proportionate to the displacement of the bike you ride.

The basic break down would look something like this......

Dirt Bikes, enduros and Ninja 250s. ----- Air Soft
EX 500s, GS 500s etc.... -------------- .22 caliber
CBR 600s, ZX600 GSXR 750 etc..... ---- 9mm
CBR 1000RR, GSXR 1000 etc..... ------- .40 caliber
Busa, ZX-14, etc.... -- --------------- .45 caliber
Y2K Bike ----------------------------- .50 caliber

I have a S&W 9MM that I plan on keeping in the tank bag once I get the concealed carry permit. It's just a matter of getting over to the county sheriff's office to fill out the forms. A tank bag is probably the best place, I wouldn't want to go down with something that heavy and bulky sticking out of my hip/back/whatever.

Not to flame, but if your going to carry, it has to be ready at any time. Wasting time chambering a round could be the differance between going home and not.

I carry a Glock 23 either IWB or on a horizontal shoulder rig. I also have a P3AT i'm breaking in for my normal riding gun. I carry that on a neck holster that hangs inside my jacket. When I take my jacket off, I can slip it under my shirt.
