I am looking into buying an inexpensive machine so that I can change my own tires... Anybody ever use one of these?

http://www.4strokes.com/reviews/harborfreight/mctirechanger/

The local store has one new the basic machine is 49.99 and the motorcycle tire adaptor is 49.99 but I also have a coupon for 20% off...

Would you buy one, have you bought one, do you like it?

just an observation, but can that machine handle the 5.5-6.0" rims of modern bikes? The pages just illustrates a dirt bike wheel...

It's only $10 a tire if I take the wheel off myself and bring it in to the shop. That is worth it to me as I'm sure I'd fook something up trying to put on my own tires.

Machine is capable of modern sportbike tires... .and DAMN! I wish I could take my rims to your shop! I take the tire and rim to any shop near me and it is $35.00 per tire! 95.00 for the rear if it still on the bike and just over 100 buck for the front if it is still on the bike.

Trash. This garbage will tear up your wheels as it has no plastic protector on the tool that goes inbetween the tire and rim (ask me how I know). Harbor freight sells a great bead breaker for about $60. Use plastic sheets as rim protectors. Rim savers ($5each) are too fat and its hard to get the tire ovet the rim protectors. Tropicana orange juice plastic containers work great. Cut the flat panels out. You will need 3 panels. Also needed 2 12" or larger tire irons. Ballancer can be had for $50. Total cost without the compressor under $150. I have been changing wheels for a long time and have yet to scratch one.

well, they are an independent shop back home not affiliated with any brand, and I usually get a discount when I'm in there... But shops around here (i got to school out of town) usually are only $15 maaaaaaybe $20 on a bad day if you bring in your own wheel(s).
