The girlfriend is looking to get one, for the graphics of course.

She doesn't ride a whole lot with me, just every now and then...I was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with them? The review on WebBikeWorld doesn't seem to be too impressive for a $215 helmet.

I have a Force RR that the back plates for the visor both broke so you can't mount a visor on it. No real big dead I often ride with the visor off anyway. But yeah can't say good things about quality.

One of the local dealers said that KBC is no longer going to be sell helmets in the US after this season, but then, he also tried to match a helmet to my girlfriend's shirt....she was less then pleased. I haven't dug into the truth of the matter yet.

Check out the the EX400 Scorpion line there are some pretty cool lids and they aren't terribly expensive and there are people running around that swear by them.

I got one while it was on sale at Cycle Gear to use at the track. It feels very light and was a pleasure to use at the track. The lining feels as soft as a Suomy, IMO, but the vents are toyish at best. I only use it at the track so cooling isn't an issue for me. If it is for you, look someplace else. The fit seems more for people with a rounder head, too. I know Cycle Gear is having a sale on the Force RR right now for 80 bucks or so. Go check that out.

cheap because they fall apart inthe first year of ownership.

I said the hell with it and bought another Shoei.

Ive had my VR-2 for like 2 or 3 years now, I love it.

I got mine on sale for $100 - really cool graphics, super comfortable and is pretty light. Ventilation is ok, but who the fuck cares. Ive tried a Shoei before and the ventilation wasnt any better. I always keep my visor open half an inch anyway.

I also sold an extra one to a woman on here, and she also liked it a lot.

I've used the vr1's with no problems. I just bought another one to use at the track. They tend to fit my head better than the HJCs I used to wear. Ultimately it's about head shape and fit. Of all the helmets in the store when I got my wife her helmet she opted for the feel of an HJC.
If she's after a helmet for the graphics you could always opt for a vinyl graphic kit for the helmet.

I'd assume that those who "love" this helmet haven't put quality time in a higher quality lid.

I had a KBC VR2R and it was by far one of the worst helmts I have ever owned. The thing was awfully loud. My Soumy (notoriously loud) isn't even comparable to the overal wind noise.

The helmet never formed to my head, and instead, loosened up progressivle to the point where it shifted on my head with the slightest bit of wind.

Just to give you an idea of how much I liked that helmet, I dropped it 5 or 6 times.

Get her an HJC for under $100 and be done with it.

Had a VR-2 two helmets ago taht I put around 8k miles on. There are little tabs on the shields that would break causing the shield to not hold a selected position. Four different shields did the same thing. A buddy of mine bought a KBC (blade?) that uses the same shield. Same thing happened to his within a couple of months. Over all its an Ok helmet at best, but you can get a better helmet for $200.

Are they REALLY selling for that much still???

Go on motorcycle-superstore, they have them for like $70 on sale now, or around there.

Ive never spent my money on a Shoei or Suomy because they are a bit steep for my price range, and I can get a helmet just as good for half the price. All you pay for those $500-800 helmets are graphics and more vents.

Ill stick to my KBC, Scorpion, and HJC. All 3 are awesome, Scorpion being my favorite, and Id take them over a Shoei anyday.

I have a VR-2 Dragon Race that's been worn maybe a handful of times. It doesn't fit my oval head right. After an hour of wearing it, it kills my forehead. Their VR-1 was excellent for fit but they changed their design for the VR-2.
Anyway, I'll sell it to you. Make an Offer.....

Damn! I tried to attach pics but the pics I have are too big.
Send me ur email and I'll send them to you.

I like my vr-2. I've owned Icon, and HJC but prefer the styling of the kbc. The wind noise sucks balls, but i like the overall feel, and look. Id say wind noise is the worst of it. If the tabs that hold the shield brake, you can call kbc and they'll send you a their new revised plates for free. 818.526.7771
