Hello there...so, I am new to this site...just sayin hi...got my license in April through the MSF course...excellent course, even though it was offered through Harley-Davidson (ack!)...but highly recommended...I have a 2003 CBR600RR....my first...I had my bike lowered 1 in the front & 3 in the back....although I am tall for a girl, 5'8", the lowering makes all the difference....I dropped my baby 3 times before the lowering kit was put on....but I'm glad the first "drop" is over !! Just a question...any feedback from anyone on the new chameleon paint that is goin around now ?? I'm thinkin of having my bike custom painted with it...any feedback is appreciated !! Thanks !!

it sucks I hate it and it is to much money not to mention if you scratch your bike you have to repaint it. Welcome to the site.

First off welcome to SBN! Cool to have more and more women riding! First off I would definatly hold off on that chamaelon paint, as you've dropped the bike 3 times already I wouldn't want to see that EXPENSIVE paint job get ruined :) Get used to the bike and that power first, just my opinion. Most people will say don't start that big, but it's too late for that now, just have fun and most importantly be careful! MSF is a step in the right direction, good luck and come often!
Hello :)

WOW 5'8".... I had to get 3' lowering links to even get comfortable on the gixxer. Man I wish I was taller lol
I'm only 5'2", never dropped mine once, had it over a year and my bikes stock height... Guess you gotta find your balance... Anyhow welcome to SBN, would have told you to start smaller, but you already got the bike, soooo get some frame sliders, some good gear, practice your balance some more, respect your ride. Defnitley don't go painting it yet, I think that chameleon crap is ugly as hell, no offense to anyone that has it. But I'd wait awhile for you too stop dropping it and find your point of balance before you go trying to fix your boo boo's on the bike with a nice new paint job. Check out Alloutgraphics.com they have some pretty cool Honda Repsol racing replica decal kits, its a lot cheaper to get your bike panited one color and the race replica kits look sic!
Take it slow and speed safe,
Courtney
Welcome!!! :twofingers

And ladies...it's not how tall you are always..it's your inseam!! I am going to have to take my bike back up...it's too low now :)
Gees Yex you're tall, I can't believe your bike is lowered, better raise that stuff back up for the track :twofinger
Luv ya girl :D,
Courtney
id recommend riding it a year or so, and get your "drops" out of the way. before repainting it.
Welcome to the board. Maybe instead of spending your money on a custom paint job, you should get a nice little beater bike to learn to ride so you don't completely destroy your CBR and yourself along with it. Or if you just have money to blow and no survival instinct, then by all means I think you should go out and get a bad ass custom paint job. Just make sure to post pics of it before you total it. I would recommend taking the pics before you leave the Paint shop.

Good luck!
I hate that chameleon paint. Maybe it would look good as a pinstripe or small graphic, but it looks horrible as the main color.
I would hold off on the chameleon paint also, on another note welcome aboard.

I would give the sob bullshit wreck story, sometimes it works as a learning tool and sometimes it doesn't, but I'm really sick and don't feel like typing it, so if you would liek to copy and paste it go ahead... Nope its the same bike from the wreck last year, never got a new bike, it only needed a new subframe. I've had two R6's and both have never been dropped...

Nah, won't bother posting it....I'm really getting tired about yelling at the wall too.

BTW, dropped/crashed seems to be a fine line here. Basically you've never fell over while stopped/coming to one.....fair enough.

Back to the newbie bashing......:twofinger
Thanks for the input....

Hey peeps....I decided to NOT paint my bike...I'm just gonna get the fairing replaced & leave it stock....I saw a few chameleon paints last night while we were all out & it looks cool & all, but I am not gonna chrome out my bike & I think that would need to be done for the chameleon paint to really work & look decent....so thanks everyone for the input...as for starting out with a 600...I felt comfortable with it so I just went for it....& the lowering makes all the difference in the world....but I am still slow in curves so it doesn't affect the handling at all....yet !! hehehe
Well, welcome to the site :twofinger <---standard greeting...

Since you already have your bike, all I can say is please be careful...The more you get into sportbiking, the more you'll hear everyday of a noob going down, and sometimes not getting back up...These bikes are insane with power and it takes less than 1 second to get into serious trouble...

Again, welcome and good luck...And how about some pics??
