Amaizing road

I am hoping this is not a repost, but dammit I searched! Ha ha

This road looks absolutely amaizing!

I was on edmunds.com today and saw this:

The Jebel Hafeet Mountain Road in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the greatest driving road in the world. Stretching for 7.3 miles and climbing nearly 4,000 feet, it boasts 60 corners and a surface so smooth that it would flatter a racetrack. It could easily be described as the eighth wonder of the world, but almost nothing is known about its creation.

The road is cut into the Jebel Hafeet mountain, the highest peak in the United Arab Emirates, the oil-rich Persian Gulf state. The mountain spans the border with Oman and lies about 90 minutes' drive southeast of the thriving city of Dubai. It looks down upon a dusty, desert landscape that belies a nation of astonishing wealth.

I have seen video...it's crazy out there.

This road just looks pristine...especially with 0 traffic on it.

Edmunds claimed it to be "The best road in the world"

You've got one more cylinder than me, so we can call it even, i guess....

again, that road is nuts. I think maybe one of the reasons it was called the best road is because of the surface. I saw some roads in japan in the mountains that were VERY similar. Also, in the UK there's good roads like that.

But i've NEVER seen such a clean, well paved road before....

The "Pig Trail" (AR Hwy 23) in Northwest Arkansas is also a very nice, very curvy, very intense ride. it's 23 miles long, and driving it conservatively takes about an hour.

60 turns in 7.3 miles sounds pretty good and looks like it was designed like a track, but i don't think anything could compare to the gap. As traveled by motorcycles as it is it gets resurfaced often and some of the turns feel as though they are banked and i'm sure that they are.

I've been on the Pig Trail about, oh 2000 times in my life. And now my parents moved and live on it now. Talk about fun.

1 hour for 23 miles???? Son are you serious? I've driven my 1999 4x4 Nissan Frontier V6 between Ozark and Brashears Switch (that's where 23 hits 16 for all you city folk) and made it in about 27 minutes before (and yeah, that's 23 or more miles). Of course I had to pass about 12 people, but I know that road like the back of my hand. And if anyone doesn't believe me, then buy me a video camera or try to follow me sometime.

And now that I have a bike, WATCH OUT!! Gonna be fun. I've been on it about 6 times now with my bike, but my girlfriend was riding on the back so I couldn't do much without her punching my kidneys! haha.

But yeah, it's a fun road.
