Well last night I heard on the news that there was an accident involving two cars. According to the news the cars were drag racing and crashed on HWY 100 and Wornimont (SP?) a 23 year old driver was killed.

That sucks. Hwy. 100 is a shitty place to die.

*I just heard it was an STI and a Neon (srt-4 I would guess?)
I heard it was a Green Neon and the Neon was turning left to enter the appartments were the guy lived and the STI hit him. My friends heard from witnesses that the STI was racing a eclipse. I dont if it is factual or not. My prayers go out to the inocent man trying to get into his parking lot.

Also HWY will be packed with cops for the weekend so anyone riding might want to avoid that area completly.
What time a few of us were riding down there say 10:30-11:00??
it happened around 10:15-10:30 we seen all the fire trucks leave to go up there I guess the STI's front bumper was up to the windshield & on fire, and the driver of the neon was through the windshield, One of the car junkies at SBUX seen it just after it happened.
That sucks, dying young! To many peeps drive like fools down on hwy these days.....its not such a cool place at all.....16-20 year old punks not paying attention to anything other than their speedometer...... No thanks. I get so nervous when were on the bike on hwy, to many times we've come close to being hit. My prayers and thughts are with the guys family & friends!

These things are everyday and everywhere not just on hwy, but the lakefront, freeway, 76th, etc...gotta keep those eyes wide, ride safe :D
Yeah I have to admit I'm getting a little tired of people driving like assholes, I know I did my share of stupid driving when I was 18 but it's gone a little too far. I lost count on how many times I have been cut off or almost rear-ended by some stupid kid that has watched The Fast and the furious too many times
Yeah but what sucks is one of the racers hit an innocent person and killed them.
Me, Katie and Sean had just gone to get gas and do a lap, when we saw it on the way back, it was carnage alright, dont know what happened, there seems to be so many stories, some say the STI was in a pack and the neon pulled out for no reason directly in front and they werent racing doing just 45, now some say he was racing someone in an eclipse, well I saw only the aftermath and believe looked like no 45mph hit unless maybe it was a direct it at 45 the neon was a good 100' from the intersection and facing the wrong way, the STI was just a few feet and in the same state of direction.... Still you can only speculate unless you were actually there.

What does piss me off though is if they were racing and everyone sticks to the story of no racing, and he gets away with it, thats just wrong, if you were racing and you just killed someone who honestly thought if you were doing the speed limit there was plenty of time to turn, but because you were doing 90 to 100 or more as we know many people do on that stretch you just cut that time in half and you killed someone......... Suffer the consequences.

they way I look at it... whats the point? If you have enough money to fix up your car and make it fast then you should have the money to go for a track day or something along that line. Not on the city streets I understand some of theses kids have mommy and daddy paying for most of it so that their kids like them but if they truly knew what their kids were doing then they would stop giving them money and make them work for it. Every time something like this happens peoplpe say be careful, but who are the ones always saying it the people who don't do that stupid stuff. but hey what ever just me venting I'm done now
Roomate knows one of the surviving drivers. Neon pulled out in front of them without looking.

Tom.
I heard on the news that WAPD is looking to charged the guy driving with Drag racing, (Something else here dont remember), and possible Homicide charges. Last night I drove down HWY 100 on my bike around 7 and there was pretty much a sea of media. I saw crews from, 6, 4, and 58.

I agree that HWY is not the place to go because of the stupid 16- 20 year olds. That is why I avoide that road once the sun goes down. Even during the day light yesterday I was riding next to a car and another vehicle heading south turn infront of me and the person next to me. The guy next to me locked up his tires and I had to do a maximum stop in order to avoid this guy. People need to pull their heads out of their @$$es before the insert the key.
Man, that sucks.....
From another forum...

"No. Dennis (STI) and his Brother (similar WRX lookalike) switched cars for the night, and Dennis' brother was driving his STI. He was driving on HWY (doing 45, despite what everyone else is saying ) and the neon pulled out. T-Boned the neon, and apparently the 23 year-old in the neon died enroute to the hospital. Both cars totaled.

Man, I really hope that Dennis, brother, and family are doing ok. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the neon driver"
