That sucks man.

My mom has a pretty nice Jeep Grand Cherokee. Like the fourth day she owned it she tried to back out of the garage with the tail wide open. Luckily it was only the glass part, so she shattered that and did a number on the garage door...I'm sure it would have been much worse had the entire thing beeen up.

ohhhh nooooo! :(

I have a 1 car garage so the bike lives in there while the truck lives wherever I park it, so I don't have to worry about that.

ouch.

i've actually done that twice. the first time my car had rain gutters and the rack slid backwards, no damage to bike or car, which amazed me because i was moving pretty fast. second time i hit a deck that was over the drive way of the house i was moving into. i was so excited about the new place i forgot i had my bikes up there. no damage to the bike, but the roof got a set of dents where the pads pushed into it. i was only going walking pace.

Is that an audi?
Yep, that my A4. Had it for about a month. Perfect way to break it it.

And yes, I did indeed just forget it was there. I had a nice 3 hour ride and as I was leaving the trailhead I opened the sliding cover for the sunroof so I could remind myself the bike was up there. Then I stopped for a monster and got my wife some starbucks. Was cruisin' home in a good mood, Bob Marley on the stereo.

3 little birds my ass Bob! Everything little thing ain't gonna be all right!

No damage to the bike, which is my wife's that I'm riding till I get my new one built. The front tire holder for the rack took the hit. Ripped the front crossbar off and bent the hell out of the tire tray. Other than that the rack system is fine and useable, although from now on I'm putting the bike in the back and leaving the rack for stuff like snowboards and kayaks that don't stick up so high.

I'm just too forgetful. I'm an absent minded professor type. Seriously, I was worried this might happen but told myself I'd be careful. This is only the third time I've used the rack, lol!

Oh well, $500 deductible. :cheers

I had a boss that did that once with 2 brand new bikes at his brand new house. His bikes didn't fare so well. Neither did the gutters on his garage. This happened about 2 or 3 days before he quit, I guess the stress was too much for him.

Sux! I have and S4 and I thought that roof looked familiar.

Oh well, you'll get it fixed and lesson learned. :cheers

Interesting color wall paint in your garage. What color is that?
Some kind of flesh color. We had two kinda off colors when we painted the inside of the house so they got used in the garage. The other two walls are this dark red. Whatever, looks better than drywall and mud.

Someone on a mountain bike forum where I also posted this said when you put the bike on the rack, drag the garbage can into your spot in the garage. That way you have to get out and move it. Where was that guy yesterday!!!!
