Can anyone comment on this?

It seems that they are trying to sell Marines on dirt bikes to prevent them from injuring themselves on sportbikes?

Keith Code says every professional street rider started on the dirt? And it helps hone their skills? I've read all of his books and been to his classes and I never heard anything about dirt bikes..

I know Hayden rides a lot of dirt but I've never really heard of Rossi and the others doing the same?

So, their message is dirt bikes > sport bikes. Their answer to being a better rider on a sport bike is to go buy a dirt bike and jump the dunes.

K guys, let me go buy a dirt bike and drive to the nearest dunes (oh, wait, none here).

What a load of shit. Keith Code can suck a fat one.

You guys are missing the point of the video.

It is propaganda for U.S. Marines, who deploy/come home/redeploy quite frequently with large sums of money. The Marines as an organization is currently facing the dilemma of vets coming home from a stressful and possibly psychologically/physiologically altering experience, then buying supersports as a first bike. These guys that buy the bikes when they come home, they aren't looking to feel the freedom of the open road. They're looking to feel a sense of extreme danger and exhilaration/adrenaline. It's hard coming home to such a watered down, safe/sanitary lifestyle after you've been threatened with imminent death for 6mo straight.

Now put two and two together. The purpose of the video is to talk 19yr old combat vets out of buying a gsx-r 1k as a first bike, using some discipline to figure out how to operate it for a week in the parking lot, then going absolutely full bore out of the parking lot and into the streets looking for a rush.

I'm sure we're all very well aware (or should be) that these guys are coming back with money and buying toys that are getting them killed. The video did not educate, it did nothing more than push dirt bikes over street bikes with a few bits of "if you get a street bike don't ______"
