I recently adjusted the chain on my ZX-7 because I thought it was too loose.
The specs said .4 to .6in slack but the dealer told me about 1 inch. I think I ended up making it too tight so I loosened it again and now when I ride it has a vibration that seems to be in the handlebars and it makes my hand fall asleep. I don't really notice it as far as the handling of the bike and it sounds normal. Also when I start to come to a stop and when I pull in the clutch it feels like something is rubbing near the shifter by my left foot. I made sure to adjust the chain evenly on both sides. Did I tighten a bold too tight. I followed the manual and I don't know why you loosen the swingarm bolt, what does that do?.
When I push up on the chain from below it will touch the top plastic guard. What is the proper adjustemnt?
Thanks for any help>

sounds like you over-loosened it. if that ninja adjusts anything like my fzr then it takes very few turns to tighten it up. it's a little ungratifying after loosening the rear to only turn the adjuster a tiny bit, but that's the nature of of these things.
