You need to confirm it's a D model not a C. Either one you can get pretty cheap even in good working shape, less than $2,000 for a C probably. The D model was made from 1990 to 1993 and was replaced by The E model but sold along side the E in '93. The E was sold from 1993 to 2004 I think or 2003. The D and E have the same engine, the tranny was improved for the E, the D is the oringinal ZX-6. The E has a better frame, all aluminum and ram air. The D model, which it sounds like it is, uses probaly all the same engine parts as the 1990-2004 ZX-6D or E, the the forks and rear shock can be swapped, pipes can't, airbox can't, seat can't, tanks are different too and fairings. Unless its engine related or suspension you'll likely need to stick with '90-'93 zx6D parts.

Ya its definately a 91 so more than likely a D i still havent had a chance to go get it or look at it been working too much lately. Thanks for the info though that cleared it up a little for me as too what i can use. The frames on 91 arent alum.? I will def. be needing forks, wheel, etc in the front. And hopefully the frame isnt tucked ..

i know you don't want advice, but unless cheap is like $200 why bother? by the time you account for the effort involved in finding parts for a 15 year old motorcycle, and then actually putting the labor into the bike, and then after that getting the bike running, etc. You could probably have picked up a ninja 500 for not much more and had a bike that was running as soon as you picked it up... Think about it this way, you can find a ninja 500 for around $1500 without to much trouble, and for that you should get a running bike that needs no work. To me it's worth it to get something that runs...

This is what i like to do. Buy wrecked bikes or non running bikes and fix them, Next to stunt riding its one of my favorite hobbies. You learn alot, have fun and accomplish something all at once. And yes it is cheap or i wouldnt bother. I dont know much about the older bikes and what years fit what as i do w/ newer bikes, thats why i asked. It has good running average mileage motor. Which i could use for numerous projects if all else fails lol.

Just wanted someone to tell me exactly what years i can go w/ as far as forks and other parts on this.
