Just a quick question guys, I tried searching myself couldn't find the answer.

Is there a noticeable size difference (dimensions not engine) between the 2 Kawasaki Ninjas? My friend told me being 5'10 185 i'd look awkward on the 250. Not that I care, but I wanted to prove him wrong. (I'm getting the 250 regardless, lol). I just couldn't find the sizes anywhere.

Sitting side by side, a 250r will look smaller, compared to other bikes.
Looking at other bikes, you'll think wow they're big.
Looking at a 250r alone, you'll not think it's small, because it's really not.
Bitties wont be able to tell the difference, 250r's look bad ass

Yeah, its overall width, length, seat height, wheelbase, etc, is almost identical to its b***** brothers. It is almost completely a thing of perception from things like the narrower rear tire and smaller front brakes that give the appearance of being smaller. There might be other small things like height of the gas tank, height of the tail section, suspension sag, etc that make it look slightly smaller.

But, if you think you look goofy on a 250, you will look the same on just about any sportbike. I personally think I look quite perfect when looking in my reflection as I ride by windows. But maybe that's just me :) .

Even if you are tall, you wouldn't look 'awkward'. most people (esp non riders) IMO get really excited by motorcycles in general and are not going to be thinking about whether you look tall for the bike or not.

Is there something different with the US model ninja that makes it so much heavier? Curb mass on the Canadian model is 375lbs (170kg) ??
Just searched and the US 2010 model is 374 lbs, maybe it's just a misprint, unless the 2009 was heavy for some reason

been no changes on the ninjette since 08. 442 sounds more like the curb weight for the 2011 400R. I recall when I bought the wife's Ninja remarking that it's wet weight was less than the dry weight of my ZZR (377lbs)
