Hey everyone. I have been lurking around this site and a couple of bike sites for a while now.

Me and a friend are purchasing 2004 R6s. After talking to the salesman and dealing with his crap, we came up with a final price..

2 2004 R6s, Helmet, forgot the brand, retails at 179, Alpine Star jacket, retails 319, Alpine star gloves, retails 79.

Including the bikes, and the gear, we were getting it for 18,700$, which comes up to about 9350 per bike including gear. If you take out the gear which is about 650 the bike comes out to 8700.00

I was wondering if this is a good deal and if i should go for it??

Thanks in advance.

That seems high to me. In Canada, I've seen 2004 r6s for sale for $10,500. I think you could get a lot lower than 8700, especially since you and your buddy are buying so much at once. I wouldn't pay more than 8000 taxes and everything for the bike.

looks like you need to do a little more shoping around. Also, why not wait a few more months when the 05' come out, and when dealers are dying to get the 04' off the floor, you can get even a better deal.

oh and the helmet price? is $100-$200 what you think your head is worth? YIKES! hope not.

I can't believe they still have them on the showroom floor--here in the Bay area--they are gone!!!!!! See ya!! Just like last year too. I guess the demand is higher around here...hmmmm...interesting....

Actually that isn't that bad of an OTD price for this area. But tell them that you don't want their gear, and to take that price off the bike. then go out and buy the gear online. They probably won't go for that, so take the deal if you are dead set on buying the bikes now. If you wait until the '05s are anounced in september, you could probably save quite a bit more money.

If you have a bike now, just hold onto it for a few more months.
