Motorcycle crash kills 19-year-old
A 19-year-old Salt Lake man was killed early today in a motorcycle crash on Moanalua Road near Kaonohi Street in Pearl City. The medical examiner's office identified him as Randy Nagaishi.
Nagaishi lost control of his 2002 R6 Yamaha motorcycle and crashed into a utility pole at 12:57 a.m., said police Sgt. Alan Vegas. Nagaishi was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:07 a.m.
The death is O'ahu's 36th traffic fatality of the year compared with 43 by this date in 2003.
################################
Additional news reports that he was speeding along Moanalua Road, and while taking a turn, clipped a curb , which caused him to lose control. Bad thing was that the freeway during this night (which runs along side Moanalua Rd) was closed for a surveying event, to widen the freeway. It forced traffic onto nearby roads.
