I've been looked around for body work and sharkskinz seem to be the way to go. (good fitment and quality, etc)

Now, comes the hard part. I wish I could afford the OPP titanium silver so I wouldn 't want to paint it, but since that isn't happening, any suggests on a color scheme? Currently, I'm contemplating just sticking with the gloss black (like the stock plastics), then picking up the stock stickers...

Finally, I don't want to rattle can it... Who in town does quality paint work and could hook me up with a sweet deal?

Thanks,
Masuo

reading what Raven? My assumption was that body work would be because of an accident, crash, etc yet I so no info on that.

My friend Shawn paints....I'll talk to him this weekend. I'm watching his kids all weekend for free, so he'll owe me a favor anyway.

You got to throw some color in there Masuo. All black is too... how do I say this... boring. Ya know, go polar opposites with your plastics. Thas what I have with the Gixxer and its pretty cool to have a completely different look between street and "race". Its like having a new bike again. I dont know.

If it were me, I would just buy painted plastics and throw a bunch of stickers on it.

Anyways, as for the body work, you could save a few hundred and go with GP compisites body work. I have heard nothing but rave reviews about their product and I think its somewhere around $600 for it. Isnt Sharkskins like $900? Something crazy like that? Just remember, the idea is that you are planning on throwing these across the pavement, so beauty is one of those iffy topics. Why make it pretty if you are going to wreck it? And if you never plan on wrecking it, then why buy race plastins? Ya know?

Ill say the same thing I said to Todd. Just make sure you get your tank (tank cover in your case, correct?) done in automotive paint with a polyurethane clearcoat. After that, do whatever you would like.

Tom - not only are the Sharkskinz a better fitment, they are also more flexable, more durable, and more easily repaired. As far as race bodywork goes, you get what you pay for.

I agree. Im just trying to save Masuo a few bucks while still not comprimising the fit and look of his bodywork.

Alls I knows is, hotbodies fits like poop. Lots of hacking involved with the belly pan, and some shaving of the upper to fit the frame profile. It all got on there, and it doesnt fall off, but it doesnt fit nearly as well as the A-Kit stuff I have on my 636.

Im with you on this one. The gloss black 1000rr is one of the best looking bikes I've ever seen! Looks like Honda mated a 954 with the Stealth fighter!! :phatyo
