Does anyone know if mirror block offs exsist for these bikes besides for 07 and up? I've already taken off my OEM mirrors and replaced them with some bar ends. Now I have an ugly hole where they use to be. Help anyone!

Yea I have them off right now and there is a lot of nasty looking stuff just sitting there. I figured maybe the block off plates would cover all of it but I don't guess soo. Wonder if I could make some, any suggestion on what to use?

Duct tape? lol

Short of machining something out of aluminum or delrin to cover what's going to be exposed upon removal of the rubber boot, I can't think of anything... I think it's easier to go naked.

When I had my '05 I used some block of plates made for Yamaha sport bikes and the had the same bolt spacing as the FZ6. Picked them up at Cycle Gear.

You can see them here:

I used accessory mirrors that you stick on car side mirrors tucked just on inside the fairing (sorry, no pics) that worked WAY better than the stock mirrors. I thought about bar end mirrors ( I have them on my GT650) but they just don't look right, IMO, on bikes with any sort of fairing.

They were generic plates made for Yamaha sport bikes (The R1/R6 I assume). Wish I could remember the brand, but I would imagine they wouldn't be too tough to find. I got mine at a Cycle Gear store. They don't list them on the website so YMMV.

I am going to guess you could probably do a cross reference for aftermarket mirrors to see which ones fit across the FZ and the R1/R6. Then, order/buy your plates accordingly. Last I checked I THINK it was 98-01 R1 and 99-01 R6 mirrors that were compatible. Emgo's site 98/02 for the R1 and 99-02 for the R6.

The screen on my old FZ was a Puig double bubble racing screen.

Awesome, I want some bar ends and cant find a block off that will cover where the mirrors went. I want a Puig as well, so did the mirror block offs cover everything on the puig? no whistleing or anything? So the mirror blocks offs didnt say R1 or anything on them? Your bike looks very nice with that set up.

I just searched some of my old threads. As long as the block offs have 28mm (center to center) spacing for the bolts they should work fine.

This block off plate, if I recall correctly, covered it pretty well. I want to say it was a Vortex plate but not 100% sure. The brand name was etched on the plate, not the bike model. No noise or ill affects. I THINK I made rubber spacers to keep the edges from contacting the Puig screen as it was a close fit.

Speaking of which, there was a slight fitment issue with their screens for the 04-06 models. I have no idea if they fixed it or not. It required making some rubber spacers so that it would fit better. Look here for a discussion.
