how often do you guys do it? '03 636 w/ 9000 hard miles. racing it this upcoming summer. manual has some really high number, like 24k or something, but seems like you should do it sooner. oh, and racing fund is tapped dry, so don't want to do anything that i don't have to!

15-24K sounds about right. Much easier to check than to adjust when needed (changing shims?). You might want to lear how to do the check yourself.
