I know it's illegal what i've been doing but thousands of other bikers in houston know and do it as well.
For years i've been using the beltway 8 almost daily and running every ez-tag with impunity.
We all know that on our sportbikes our mass is not enough to activate the sensors meant for cars and that we can breeze through them with no problems..
well apparantly the rumors i heard a few month's ago are true now. It was going around that bikes are now going to be picked up easily on the cameras with new sensors.
On my usual route I had noticed just weeks ago the ez-tag lanes were under construction as they were adding a third lane but little did I realize they were updating the sensors as well.
I usually ride the center line while going through but just last week after the construction was through I was doing my usual thing through there and lo and behold TODAY I got it in the mail the dreaded letter from the toll department with pics of me on my bike going through. It busted me 3 times and i am being charged 18 dollars.
So it looks like my days of the free ride are over and for other bikers as well.
well 18 dollars isn't a big deal since really i owe them probably over 4 grand..
