Gsxr 1000 rear shock on a 750

Does anyone know if a rear shock and spring from a 2005-06 Gsxr 1000 will bolt up to a 2006 gsxr750?

I have a theory that because I'm a bigger guy, the bigger shock would have more adjustibility in the range I would need it. I am a track only rider, weighing around 240. Around a year ago I had this conversation with our local suspension specialist at a track, and He thought that if it will bolt on correctly, it would work better for my track setup. As of now my bike suspension is stock, but tuned for my size. It works really well, but there is always room for improvement. I can get one off eBay for like 40 bucks. It might be worth getting one just to try it. If it worked it would sure beat paying for a penske or Olins.

Any experience or thoughts would be welcomed.

240 with stock springs its not tuned for your size....the springs are going to be a bit soft.

Try a spring first, you can get an Eibach for like $115 from racetech, it'll be a massive improvement.

I do wear a helmet, as a matter of fact, along with other protective gear. But, the fact that you “certainly hope” I wear a helmet is so condescending it makes me want to ride a tricycle completely naked doing doughnuts in your front yard screaming Beastie Boys lyrics at midnight. Trust me, you do not want that. My buttocks are extremely pale and unsightly, especially in moonlight.

I guess it can be done, but may need some slight modification on the swing arm.
