Clutching up a liter bike

What is the highest gear can you comfortablly clutch up in on a modern liter bike.

I've seen vids of a guy (iobot?) clutching up a cbr600 in 5th gear with what I beleive was stock gearing...what could say, an 03 R1 do?

well they do have extended gearing too...so prolly not all that high...its just that they can ride wheelies out longer than most bikes

i saw the vid you talking about (fifth gear clutch up) and i should have looked at the rpm the clutch was popped at. now i'm wondering exactly what revs he was at when the front wheel came up.

cause I know a guy i ride with could pop the fron up pretty easy in 2nd gear with stock gearing on a 04 R1...but I havent seen him in 2 months. since (from what I hear) liter owners tend to not want to clutch it up since the power can do it for em, I was wondering what they could clutch it up in...say with the perameters of the slip being under 12K.

I have no problems clutching up my 954rr 1st through 3rd, never tried anything higher but im sure i can get the other gears up.

Whats the point when I can ride as fast or as slow as I want in any of the first three gears for as long as I can hang one without getting arm pump.

its super easy in 1st and 2nd.

2nd on the 954 comes up just as easy as my 01 F4i did in 1st.

altho i have a friend who does them in 3rd, ive never tried but im sure it can be done quite easily....

I have clutched my 03R1 and 06ZX-10R in 2 and third gear, haven't found the need to clutch it in first yet unless you're a stunter doing 5mph circle wheelies.

I tried 4th once but couldn't figure out how much rpms I would needs once I was over 7-8K and still was only getting a 6 inch hop.

oh well. guess I'll find out in a few weeks after I retreive and grow comfortable to the R1 while riding in snow.

my 04 GSXR600 never wanted to come up in 2nd (Which i think was due to having 21K miles on the clutch) no matter HOW HIGH i slipped that damn thing. I'm looking forward to actually being able to bring them up at over 55 mph.

Gonna be able to power it up in 1st and probably second correct?

damn I should stop asking questions about my new stunt vehicle cause I've never owned a liter bike before...so I'm not even used to it yet. (dont have in possession yet )

dont know about powering it up in 2nd, never tried personally.

and i know pow pow wheelies are for posers, but sometimes they are just super fun on the liter. cuz its not like you have to open/close/open the throttle. you just roll on....

leaving stop lights/signs, rolling on the gas and carrying the wheel a foot off the ground until you switch gears is an awesome feeling.....

If you can't get a liter bike up in 2nd than something is wrong with you......Bottom Line!

My 2000 929 will clutch up 1st - 3rd and if I was going fast enough probably 4th........

I don't have the bike yet so i can't answer my own question! I pick it up in 8 hours tho

I hear the 04 zx10r like I'm buying can clutch it up in 4th around 135 mph. I'm going to kill myself.

I'll let ya know how it goes as long as it isn't snowing today
