M109R '07 Here; Sportbike days are over, I'm afraid.

I recently traded my FZ6 (that you see in the profile pic) for an awesome beast of a machine, the Suzuki M109R. Still in the "mod" cycle, but will put pics up soon. My son and I have been sport bike riders for years, but I'm 52 and getting older (and fatter) and I needed something a little more "grown up" I guess. I just love this bike. For me, it'a a great transition bike coming up from sportbike to cruiser. Don't really miss my Fz6 so much now. In fact, it seems somewhat like a toy in comparison.

My son still has a Honda 2000 CBR 929 and a brand new Suzuki GSXR 1000 (which he already laid down )! Anyway, I'm here to party with you other Sport Cruisers now!

Just wanted to post up and say I'm a new M109R owner (black of course).

I came from a CBR954RR myself and I stopped riding for a few years due to being uncomfortable riding a sportbike after a collar bone break and some back issues. The M109R is as much fun as the 954, way more comfortable, and IMO looks better and is more "grown up". I know thats all a matter of opinion though.

My wife still has a CBR600RR though so I can still rip up the high rpms occasionally if I want to

I have an 2004 Triumph Speedmaster which is not considered in the same category as these other so called "sporting cruisers" but its sure prettier than all those other cruisers.

It does not run so bad either. She has Thunderbike pipes, airbox drilled out, bigger main jets, progressive springs, Some extra bling in aftermarket peg hangers/ Engine dresser bar/ OEM highway pegs .....

Triumph twins are just plain purty.

is the other warrior owner x-handle/name as parabellum? is that correct per what another member here said? if so, i remeber u on the warrior site.

anyways, any other sportcruisers out there besides the 2 on the original post?
vrodders, m109ers, vmaxers, vtx's, harleys, etc.....

speak up, 4 we r outnumbered here. that's good though, makes me feel like the underdog rebel that we all tend and want to be. freedom speaks 4 itself.

i like all bikes, even though i still have preferences. i'll ride with just bout anyone who wants to really ride and not just go to hang out from restaurant to restaurant, then gas, eat, break, bathroom, eat again, break, smoke, gas, water, stretch.......etc......nothin against all that, hell, i dip, piss a lot(all the water i drink)and do some of that as well but that is not my main focus when riding. i'm kinda in the middle, somewhere o'er the rainbow, where careful, leisure, and aggressive meet.

i'm no rossi, but i sure can try 2 b.............he,he...
wassup!!!???
ive owned a Roadstar warrior, and its an incerdible machine, i currently ride a vamx. To me the vmax is the prime example of an old retro hot rod, its like someone took an old harley ironhead sporty frame, and jammed a really bad ass motor in it. Ive owned alot of bikes in my years of riding but for me the vmax is the funnest. Just a raw ruff cut bike

So, this thread seems to be old and dead but full of enthusiastic owners. I'm just stopping by to see if I can get the heart of this conversation beating for a few more strokes and walk away with a little advice.
I currently own a Zuki 600K5 and love the piss out of it but some of the riding I do (especially with the girlfriend on the back) isn't really fitting for a bike that loves revving to the moon. So... I'm looking to pick up a sexy and smooth cruiser that is comfy for two people but good-looking enough to cruise myself if I want. I like the style of the M109R and VTX13 as well as the Night Rod and HD-Muscle but I'm looking for more personal opinions on ride quality with/without passenger. Also, reliability, gas mileage and acquisition/insurance cost matter. Thanks in advance for your help. If this it the wrong thread, let me know and I'll step away. Looking to buy in fall or winter when the deals are good and used bikes save money. Thanks again.

i own a sport bike and a sport cruiser, the victory 8 ball is often overlooked.
it is a air cooled 100 cu in v twin, belt drive, it has overhead cams and 4 valves per cylinder. 10-1 compression. with only a pipe and air filter kit it turns 11.80 et and 111 mph. that will just about beat all except a M 109 and old or new v max . never lost to a v rod even the SE v rod. if you like american, and are not a HD fan the 8 ball is worth looking at. the bike is a 06 and never given me one problem. the handling is good for a cruiser. the other victory line up is not for me [ custom or tank ] but the 8 ball i like a lot.
