RG500 Gamma motor. This motor was built for the ¾ midget car series.
I acquired the motor from an estate. The owner of the motor is deceased.
But here is what I know about the motor.
It was labeled 555cc. It’s been modified to fit into a cart or midget car. It would be very difficult to change it to fit back into a bike, but maybe it could be done. I don’t really know. It does have a lot of trick parts. The motor turns over fine. Looking into the cylinders the pistons, skirts cylinders and ports look about as fresh as new. It’s been ported and looks really good from what I can see visually. It does have massive carbs and adapter manifolds’ on it. Thinking 36MM carbs, but not certain. The cases have been repairs in 2 spots. My guess is from rocks hitting them and cracking the cases, not from catastrophic engine failed. It has 4 exhaust pipes that I am not sure how they go on. I think the pipes exit from side pointing down. Not sure? I do know they will NOT fit a street Gamma. Pipes go with the motor.
The engine has a larger flywheel, a gear and mounts for a starter motor. Different spaced out drive unit. Comes with power valve motor, cable, throttle cable. No coils. Has a vacuum fitting to the crank case to hook up a small hose. My guess it is their for a fuel pump.
The motor is labeled “MP2”. No idea what that means? Maybe someone will know?
I am asking $3,500.The parts would probably bring a fair sum if I wanted to part it out. But I want to sell it as is. Maybe someone could out into a quad or Go-Cart. It would be one wild ride. PM me if you have any question or for more pictures.
No Knucklehead time wasters….Please.
