Every morning Monday-Friday, and some nights as well.

I did do the double h4 job and I did have to adjust the left headlight way way down because the low beam was pointing directly at on coming traffic.

Will the weak ass alternator withstand the load all the time ?
Yes the alternator will handle it as long as you wire it so that you only have either high or low beam on at any one time. Stock the bike is designed so it can handle high beam all the time that's 115watts. With two H4s that's a total of 120watts on high beam.

MacBandit I wouldn't do the Euro headlight since it's reflector is designed with people driving on the left side of the road.

shaunomercy So let me get this correct. You splice into the orange wire and run a wire to the headlight with the h1 bulb. Chop the flange off a h4 bulb and presto both bulbs on dip and full beam.

Just 1 other question though. Are the reflectors the same on both sides or not? I just wonder that if the side with the h1 bulb is different then effectively you would be riding with effectively full beam on, on that lense, albeit at a lower voltage.

Also after reading this thread, someone mentions getting a europe spec headlight where we have the twin element bulb in the left side. Do they come apart so you could swap either reflectors or is each headlight effectively bolted in place to the complete headlight assembly.???

Can someone clarify this please. Its a fantastic mod all the same and great where you guys have found to splice in.

Cheers Paul.

Yes, both are twin element.

rc5695 I am. On the left one you have to grind off the flange so it's teh same size as the old single element bulb. I used a dremel tool with a sandpaper drum and it came off pretty quick.

Now that i"m riding to work in the dark, I'm SSSOOO happy with this mod! I sure wish I would've done it sooner, but I guess I pretty much needed to wait for my warranty to expire...

H8 PVMT Done .

The best part of this is people will stop telling me that I have a headlight out.

slammer111 Just run a wire from the harness. For the connector, just rip one off a wrecked Honda. Looks like many Jap cars use the same connectors
